Dear Music Enthusiasts,

My apologies for the bow's angle and placement, in addition to any other technical issues.
I'd have fixed the placement but the line art was done six months ago. Half the color three months ago, and the remainder over the week before this post.

I hadn't intended to post anything about this, but I spilled a little more of the skeleton of the story than I intended in writing up the answer to someone's question, so might as well slap it up here:

The original idea that lead to the funerary setting was that the deceased was her mentor. I imagined it'd be the sort of tough love relationship you'd see between any master and apprentice, one that sees bitterness to the end - but births undying respect.

The schooling would've ended abruptly on hostile terms over her supposed inherent inability. She would leave to start a career with what she'd learned, mostly out of spite for his harshness. Over the years she would have established a name for herself, motivated almost purely by the need to prove her mentor wrong. Which she surely did.

Further into the story she would realize what his high expectations had done to and for her. Softened, she would reach out - only to find that he has grown old, fallen very ill, and is living within his final days. Upon investigation she learns that he has truly felt nothing but remorse concerning the events that lead to the day she left, and that he had followed her success very closely. She remains by his side, visiting regularly till the end.

The day of the fueral ceremony she plays the piece her mentor was renowned for, the one that she had failed to master under his instruction and that sparked the tension that lead to her departure. She had mastered it over the years on her own.

And that's why the PSD is named like it is:
