Rainbow Dash (Armoured) by DimFann Rainbow Dash (Armoured) by DimFann
Sweet Christ why did I spend so much time on this.
PaintToolSAI for the lines, Photoshop for the colour.

Lately a friend has been asking me to draw several specific variations of the characters from this show, I liked this idea the most.
The wings were an utter bitch.

Those unprotected legs... Stalliongrad manapowerarmor users disapprove.

I'm assuming that's a Mechquest reference?

No, it's just a logic reference.

Unnervingly human. Although I'm sure some people like that

Yeah, did this one without actually knowing much/anything about horses.
So for fairness' sake I've been studying them for over the past week and I think I'm fairly close to having them down:

Very good, although some parts like the snout are modified to achieve that cuteness that you see on the show.

I think you forgot her tail.

Great pic other than that l'il flub, though.  Love to see more of your art!

I'd be quite happy if you kept on making them ponies. Thank goodness for your friend.
Some fine use of contrasting lighting here. And I rarely see this kind of body armor on ponies, which is frankly a shame, since it looks quite good and makes perfect sense in terms of protection and stuff. Also, good judicious use of anthropomorphisation. And some fine-arse wings.
Well done!

There will certainly be at least few more out of me, my friend really isn't shy about making requests, and I'm usually happy to fulfill them if time permits.
We agreed that the whole 'sort of Greek hoplite' style armor would probably be the most appropriate choice considering the mythology.
The input is greatly appreciated, I love reading/hearing people's thoughts and criticisms! =)
